Dr. Venkat Reddy
Dean, UCCS College of Business
Venkat Reddy has been the Dean of the College of Business and Administration and the
Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Colorado at Colorado
Springs since May 2005. Dr. Reddy served as Interim Dean for nine months prior to it.
He received his PhD in Finance from the Pennsylvania State University.
At UCCS, Dr. Reddy plays a critical role in the success and external recognition of the
College's academic programs. He was instrumental in some of the school's major
initiatives, including the development of the Distance MBA Program, Bachelor of
Innovation, PGA Golf Management, Sport Management and taking the school through a
successful five year AACSB maintenance process. He provides leadership in building
the College of Business Alumni community with the help of several alumni leaders in
the community. He was instrumental in obtaining Enterprise Zone status for Dwire
Hall and three other construction projects on campus. He was also involved in working
closely in the $10M renovation of Dwire Hall, home of the College of Business. In
2008, the College was awarded the Community Enhancement Award from the Colorado
Springs Economic Development Council. More recently Daniels Foundation awarded a
$1.25M grant to the College of Business to start a Business Ethics Initiative.
During his 18 years of service to UCCS, Dr. Reddy has twice received the Outstanding
Teaching award at the College of Business. He serves on a variety of College and
University-wide committees, providing guidance and leadership on various projects,
including the CU Presidential Search Committee. Dean Reddy also taught in the
University of Colorado's Executive MBA program, with students from Boulder, Denver,
and Colorado Springs. Professor Reddy's primary research and teaching interests are in
the areas of investments and corporate finance. His research work has appeared in several
finance and economic journals.
Dr. Reddy is actively involved in the community through service on several boards
including the Economic Development Corporation, Goodwill Industries, Wells Fargo, and
the Colorado Springs Technology Incubator, among others.
